You will have pain, but….

As you get older it is inevitable that you will have some type of pain in one or more of your joints or muscles.

Lifestyle activity, injury, decrease of hormones, or a combination of all of these are to blame for the aches and pains we feel as we age.

BUT…should you stop exercising because of the pain.

This is an adamant ” No!”

You can be strong and in pain or you can be weak and in pain, you get to choose.

Resistance training is key to living an independent, healthy life.

There are no questions to the benefits of resistance training:

  • Decreased sarcopenia (age related muscle loss)
  • Decreased risk of heart disease like stroke and heart attack
  • Slow to loss of Bone density
  • Decreased cancer

I’m not saying don’t be careful and mindful, but if you are using proper lifting techniques, there are still a lot of exercises you can do. If you have an acute injury and need to take some time off for healing, that’s one thing, but to stop all together, thinking that you can never go back is inaccurate.

Your body is resilient so, while you will have pain, you can and should still do resistance training.

If you are not sure what to do, how to do it or are afraid you’ll waste your time doing it on your own, join me for a 30-Day Jump Start where you will get stronger, more flexible and learn
